Headshot Submission Guidelines
A great headshot helps us present you professionally to potential employers. Please follow these Do’s and Don’ts to make sure your photo stands out in the best possible way.
✅ DO
1. Take your photo in natural sunlight
Ideally outside on a sunny day – this gives your image a vibrant and natural look.
2. Use a bright, uncluttered background
Like a beach, garden, or light-coloured wall. This helps you stand out.
3. Frame the photo from your knees to just above your head
We need to see your face clearly, but also a bit of your posture and presentation.
4. Wear neat, professional clothing
Ideally something you'd wear at a resort or to an interview.
5. Smile
Or keep a friendly, approachable expression. Confidence and warmth are key.
6. Keep your hair tidy
Also, keep your overall appearance well-groomed.
7. Use a phone or camera with good resolution
Avoid pixelated or blurry images.
❌ DON’T
1. Don’t take selfies
Or overly close-up photos.
2. Don’t use filters
Snapchat/Instagram effects, or heavily edited images.
3. Don’t use photos taken indoors in poor lighting
Natural light works best.
4. Don’t use busy or dark backgrounds
Such as crowded rooms, car interiors, or dark walls.
5. Don’t wear sunglasses or hats
We need to see your eyes and face clearly.
6. Don’t crop yourself out of group photos.
Opt for a good quality individual photo instead.
